The History and Evolution of the Bridal Shower

The wedding bridal shower dates all the way back to the 1890's. It all started when family and friends would get small gifts for the bride and would open them up over the bride's head. This all began in the country of Holland. It became a prominent part of their culture when a rich Dutch girl fell in love with poor boy. She instantly wanted to marry the boy, but she obviously knew that her parents would never approve of the boy, because of his stature.
