Joint Child Custody and Co-Parenting

The term "joint child custody" refers to shared custody or co-parenting. Parents can share joint physical custody, with the child living with each parent for a specified amount of time. Parents can also share joint legal custody, where the child lives with only one parent, but both parents have equal legal rights and obligations to that child.
